The beginning of the 21st Century has been the unrelenting march of civilization. Competition between countries to be the most scientifically advanced is as intensive as ever. Japan, with few other resources, needs to garner her intellectual energy to lead the world as a foremost innovative nation.

Scientific technologies in Japan are world class, however, corporate support is sparse. For example, because English is the language of research, Japanese researchers are immediately at a disadvantage compared to those in the English-speaking world. When reporting on their investigations senior Japanese researchers have to spend too much time simply translating their work, delaying progress in their research.
